For the next 365 days I will take a picture of myself. Each day/picture will have a part of my body in it. I am looking forward to this challenge and being able to see myself and body in a new light. I am hoping for grow as an artist and a person.

I paint self-portraits because I am the person I know best. -Frida Kahlo

Friday challenge: Imitation of Great art... Lady at Eden Concert by Picasso 1903

  1. Wow, I'd never seen that's lovely! And your reproduction of it is quite awesome, as always!

  2. You really captured Picasso's style and feeling from his blue period.

When I saw just the tiny pic pop up on Facebook, I thought you had modeled your photo after The Old Guitarist, which was painted the same year:

I like it even better close up and as the lady, but perhaps you are also the pentimento in the Old Man?

I love this one, Heather, and I really look forward to this series every Friday.

  3. The Old Guitarist is my favorite Picasso, Madonna! I had the chance to see it in the Chicago Museum of Art this summer and it's even lovelier in person. I thought this picture resembled it too!

  4. Beautiful work once again, Heather!

And I learned a new word: pentimento. Thanks, Madonna. :)

  5. "And I learned a new word: pentimento. Thanks, Madonna"

    Ditto!! :)

  6. I love this! I really look forward to seeing what you do each week!
